Civic participation, monetised at LGA scale.

SoroSoke is the only platform turning sustained civic participation into a paid, verified, multi-sided business across Nigeria’s 774 LGAs. We are raising our first institutional round.

SoroSoke is the only platform in Nigeria that turns civic participation into a paid, verified, nationwide network. We are raising our first institutional round to scale Community Manager coverage from launch states to all 774 LGAs over the next 24 months.

The opportunity in one paragraph

Nigeria is the largest mobile market in Africa. Roughly 220 million people, ~120 million smartphone owners, 774 LGAs, and a youth bulge that overwhelmingly votes with its thumb. Civic technology to date has focused on elections, transparency dashboards, or single-issue protest tools — all of which spike and fade. SoroSoke is the first platform to monetise sustained civic participation at LGA granularity, in a way that government, corporate, and diaspora capital can all underwrite.

How SoroSoke makes money

The business model is multi-sided. We do not depend on advertising alone. Five revenue streams reinforce each other:

  1. SoroSoke Jobs (SJOB) certification fees. Community Manager and Revenue Scout candidates pay a small certification fee on enrolment; SJOB takes a margin on every successful placement.
  2. Diaspora payment rails. Diaspora members fund LGA-level initiatives via SoroSoke. We earn FX margin and platform fees on every transaction.
  3. Corporate sponsorship of LGA milestones. Brands and institutions sponsor verified outcomes (clinics built, classrooms refurbished, town halls held). SGPL takes a programme management fee.
  4. S-Points contribution framework. The S-Points system supports contribution tracking, moderation controls, and internal platform metrics within Nigerian regulatory constraints.
  5. Data & insights products. Anonymised, LGA-level civic sentiment and infrastructure data — sold to research institutions, media, and policy actors who today have no real-time channel into ground truth.

Unit economics — the headline

The structural insight is that each Community Manager is a profit centre, not a cost centre. A certified CM earns a base stipend (~₦50,000 / month) and a per-verification S-Points allocation. In return, the CM unlocks: corporate sponsorship pipelines for their LGA, certification fees from new candidates they refer, diaspora-funded projects on their patch, and the data products that flow upward into the platform. The lifetime value of a CM far exceeds the platform’s cost of certifying and equipping them.

🎯 What we’re raising for

This round funds: nationwide Community Manager certification (462 LGAs in the next 12 months), the S-Points contribution framework and moderation/compliance build-out, regulatory licences (NDPR, data governance), and the senior team to scale operations across the six geopolitical zones.

Why this team, why now

Every founding team member has built and shipped technology in Nigeria before. We have done the unglamorous work: NDPR compliance, NIBSS integration, CBN consultation, Lagos State and Abuja partnership conversations. The post-#EndSARS political and civic environment is structurally favourable for a platform like SoroSoke, and the cost of not building this now is that the next election cycle plays out without a working civic feedback channel for 220 million people.

Materials available under NDA

  • Pitch deck (current cohort) and detailed financial model
  • Three-year nationwide rollout plan, by zone and state
  • S-Points contribution model and moderation policy
  • Compliance brief covering NDPR, CBN, NIBSS, and content moderation framework
  • Letters of intent and partnership confirmations (where signed)
